Stephanie Cadet Obituary

Stephanie Elaine Cadet Beloved wife of Ron Cadet and mother of Charles-Andre and Mia Alexandra Cadet was born to the late Staff Sgt. Robert Brown and Julia Brown on August 20, 1964, at Hamilton Air Force Base in San Rafael, California. Stephanie was raised in Texas and Florida, and graduated from Stanford University in 1987, where she studied psychology and economics.

After graduating from Stanford, Steph's professional career began at Oracle Corporation. In 1991, Stephanie and Ron met and found an extraordinary love and compatibility together. They were married in 1992 and eventually settled in Redwood City. In 1994, Steph and Ron joined Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she was active in the Young Adult Ministry and the Children's Ministry. Also in 1994, Stephanie joined an exciting start up, Crystal River Engineering as their manager of sales. She was instrumental in their ultimate acquisition by a larger company. After leaving Crystal River, she worked for and consulted with a variety of technology firms, until she began focusing her attention and energies on her young son, Charles, who was born in 1996.

Charles' debilitating neurological condition prompted Steph to redirect her talents and energies to the care of her son, and actively volunteering in the medical, educational, and special needs community. In 2003, Stephanie and her husband welcomed the arrival of daughter Mia into their lives as fost-adopt child. Mia's adoption was officially completed earlier this year, bringing a great deal of joy to Stephanie and her family.

When not routinely helping others, one would find Stephanie entertaining friends. Her culinary exploits were exquisite and known far and wide. Steph loved and lived life to the fullest and will be missed profoundly.

Left to cherish and carry on her memory are her husband, Ron, son Charles-Andre, and daughter Mia; her mother, Julia Brown of Tampa, Florida; two sisters, Deborah Brown and Evelyn Williams; six brothers, Reginald, Michael, Geoffrey, Robert, Curtis, and Cedric; one aunt, Dorothy Chopfield; two uncles, William Parker and Paul Parker; one great aunt Daisy Langston; one great-great-aunt, Lilly Miller; mother-in-law Maud Cadet, father-in-law Raymond Cadet, a host of other relatives, her Jerusalem Baptist Church family and her many friends.

Quiet hour Friday, July 15, 2005 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday, July 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m., both services at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 398 Sheridan Avenue, Palo Alto, Calif. Ron, Charles & Mia,

Stephanie was truly a sister to me. A loyal, loving and caring friend with whom I had the profound joy to spend 18 years of my life. My life has been forever shaped by her and while I will deeply miss her sparkling and incisive wit and true Southern hospitality, I will carry the memory of what we shared for the rest of my life.

God bless you, Stephanie Cadet. I love you!

Stephanie was a joy and a light not only to you but to all who knew her. She was unfailingly loyal, polite, and thoughtful.

We were blessed to have known her. May her strength and love of the Lord strengthen and keep you.
