Wallace Harrison Obituary

Wallace (Wally) Harrison Born 8/15/13 in Boulder, Colo. died 10/17/09 at his daughter's home in Felton, Calif. Wally strongly believed in family first, hard work, never giving up, living everyday to its fullest and keeping a positive outlook. Wally, along with his business partners, owned and operated Industrial Tool & Supply in San Jose for over 50 years. He was an avid golfer, angler and hunter, and a cowboy who loved to ride his horses through the apricot fields that surrounded his longtime home in San Jose. He took great pride in his German Short Hair Pointers, who retrieved countless pheasants for him on hunting trips. He truly appreciated nature and enjoyed the beauty of the redwoods that surrounded his recent home in Felton. Wally, who was easily recognized by his signature BluBlocker sunglasses, LOVED to dine out with family and friends, most notably at his favorite restaurant - Original Joe's in San Jose. He thoroughly enjoyed making any stop that involved getting donuts, as well. Wally was known and admired for his generosity to friends and acquaintances alike, and he inspired all that knew him with his will to stay fit and active. To the delight of many, he was especially proud to show off his always-tan legs. Wally cherished his wife of 61 years, Elaine, who preceded him in death in 2001. He is survived by his son Ron Harrison and his wife Pam; daughter LuLane Harrison; grandchildren Shelley Yoder (Mitch), Tricia Szprejda (Steve), Matt Harrison (Delia), Meghan Trifilo; and seven great-grandchildren. A private family memorial is planned. For those who wish to remember Wally with a charitable contribution, donations can be sent to Second Harvest Food Bank, 800 Ohlone Parkway, Watsonville, CA 95076-7005 or the charity of your choice.

I new him but a short time, but what a great man he was, generous, loving, and above all a family man. He definitely was an inspiration to me for the love of life and family that was so noticeable as he pasted through our lives. God Bless him.
