William Tempel Obituary

William F. Tempel Passed away April 27, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after an heroic battle against a lengthy illness. Mr. Tempel is survived by his Son William and Daughter Sarah, Son in Law Jon, Grandsons Ian, Austin and Todd, and Granddaughter Felicity. Mr. Tempel most recently served as a Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Wachovia Securities in San Jose. A true Renaissance man, Mr. Tempel was a graduate of Bexley Hall Seminary, Ohio Northern University and a proud US Army veteran. In his life, he touched many souls from diverse walks of life. Whether leading marches to end poverty in Cleveland, Oh with Dr. Martin Luther King, or providing a role model and mentor to others Mr.Tempel's leadership by example and commitment to the needs of others was a rare gift to all those who were fortunate to have him in their lives. A man of integrity and compassion, who through his humble commitment to doing what was right helped change the world for the better. Mr. Tempel's legacy continues with the establishment of Tempel's Rock Foundation for Children, a non-profit charity dedicated to improving the lives of the children of terminally ill parents. Knowing that he is now at peace and in a place of joy may bring comfort but there will never be another man to take his place. God Bless you William, may your journey end at the heart of Heaven itself.
