Ardell L. Allison
Ardell L. Allison age 86 of Hibbing passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, with her family by her side.
She was born March 24, 1938 to Mario and Erma Andreoli in Hibbing. Ardell was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and later Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a woman of strong faith, praying the rosary daily and often praying Novenas for her family and friends. Ardell was married for 51 beautiful years to her high school sweetheart Carl Allison. Ardell was the "co-head" swimming coach with her husband Carl for nearly 40 years and even after Carl had passed, her commitment to the swimming community continued. She volunteered for the PTA and cub scouts when the boys were young. Ardell cherished time spent watching her grand & great grand kids sporting events, whether it was soccer, football, baseball, swimming, hockey or basketball. She also loved to spend time with her family and friends at the duck camp and loved to boast about her walleye catches, Ardell did not believe in catch and release! She had the opportunity to travel the world with her best friend since kindergarten, Betty Bugliosi. Ardell loved to cook and was known for her famous pans of lasagna, sarmas, sugo and her famous pickle recipe which have been enjoyed by thousands over the years. Most of all, Ardell loved being with her family during holidays and special occasions where there was always plenty of food and drinks, a trait she has passed on to her four sons. In recent years, she came to love her winters in the Florida sunshine with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Laurie), Jeff (Deb), Mark and Todd (Heidi), grandchildren, Zack (Jackie), AJ (Bri), Matt (Anneka), Ben (Elizabeth), Joe, Jill, Kristy (Ryan), Andrew, and Austen (Kayla), great-grandchildren, Lydia, Kalli, and Fritz.
Ardell was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl and sister, Odette Hukka.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 12 noon, Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
