Beverly Damjanovich Obituary

Beverly Louise Damjanovich

Heaven gained one of its sweetest angels with the passing of Beverly Louise Damjanovich who entered her eternal home on June 21, 2025, one day short of her 94th birthday.

Bev was born on June 22, 1931, to Frank (Frenchie) and Selma Chaurand in Keewatin, Minn. Bev spent the majority of her life in Keewatin. She loved animals and had a family cow growing up!

She was married January 13, 1951, to George Damjanovich. She was a loving mother to her three children, a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, and a cherished great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren. She was also a beloved sister to her two sisters, Jackie and Suzie with whom she shared a lifelong bond of laughter, love, and countless memories. Bev was the heart of her family and the soul of every gathering. Her home was always open, with a fresh pot of coffee, a baked treat, and a listening ear ready for anyone who walked through the door. She made everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and deeply loved.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. She remained a lifelong member of the Congregation of the Good Shepherd church in Keewatin. She volunteered regularly for church activities, was a vacation bible school teacher, and participated in pasty making. She was the quintessential church basement lady.

For a little over a decade, Bev shared her compassion with others through her work at Hibbing Hospital. The friends she made remained close to her heart, and she treasured their coffee dates and reminiscing sessions for decades. She was also a dedicated member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Keewatin American Legion and the Keewatin Senior Citizens Club.

Some of Bev's most joyful moments were spent at the family cabin, where family from near and far would come together to cook unforgettable meals and fill the air with laughter that echoed across the lake. Her potica was legendary, and her endless treats were only matched by her endless love.

When friends and family went home for the evening after cherished visits, she had the company of her beloved cat, Mortisha. They could be seen completing a puzzle or watching the birds through the dining room window. Mortisha always put a smile on Bev's face. She loved all creatures, great and small.

Bev is now reunited in heaven with her parents, sister Jackie, husband George, great-granddaughter Bianca Louise, and lifelong friends.

Bev leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, generosity, and family. She is survived by her children: Paul (Robi) Damyan, St. Louis, MO., Thomas (Donna) Damjanovich, Nashwauk, MN., and Lori Beron Falcon Heights, MN. Her sister Suzette (Daryl) Thingvold of Thornton, CO. Seven grandchildren: Trevor Damyan, Holly (Brice) Norton, Marty (Melonie) Damyan, Kyle (Riana) Damjanovich, Spencer (Shanda) Beron, Sara Damyan, and Emily Green. Nine great-grandchildren; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of Bev's life will be held at a later date with a private memorial. As per her wishes there will be no funeral. If you would like to honor Bev, donations can be made to her church, The Congregation of the Good Shepherd, in Keewatin, or by sharing a cup of coffee with someone you love.
