David W. Langfeld
David W. Langfeld, 60, of Chisholm, Minn., passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 13, 1964, in Aurora, Minn.,, David was the son of Winfred and Dorla (Miller) Langfeld.
In 1993, David married Kimberly Betzler, and together they shared 31 years of love, laughter, and cherished memories. A proud graduate of St. Scholastica, David earned double bachelor's degrees in Business Management and Organizational Behavior, reflecting his dedication to education and personal growth. His vibrant and adventurous spirit led him through a variety of careers. He served as a peace officer in northern Minnesota, demonstrating his dedication to protecting and serving his community. His natural charm and "gift of gab" brought him into sales, and among his many endeavors, teaching was one of his greatest joys, as it allowed him to connect with and inspire others.
David loved family life and embraced every moment spent fishing, gardening, barbecuing, and enjoying music, which was a constant source of joy in his life. Known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand, he was a source of warmth and strength to all who knew him. David was also passionate about sports, especially his beloved New York Yankees-and deeply involved in politics, where he never hesitated to share his views.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Kim; sons, Kyle and James; brother, Mark; sister, Lori (Ernie) Kurtock; brothers-in-law, Henry Ruotsalainen, Ryan (Amy) Betzler, Brandon Isaacs, and Jerod Isaacs; sisters-in-law, Wendy (Duane) Vanderhoff and Gina Isaacs; father-in-law, Joe (Barbara) Betzler; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred and Dorla Langfeld; grandparents; sister, Lynn Ruotsalainen; and mother-in-law, Sandra Borgman.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Chisholm Baptist Church, with Rev. Dan Erickson officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm.
David's love for life, his family, music, and his community will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, passion, and laughter will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
