Dorothy Belle (Lundeen) Parish departed this world on January 22, 2024, in Virginia, Minn., with her loving family by her side. Her life was a testament to the unwavering bonds of family and the strength found in faith.
Dorothy graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1954. She was a lifelong parishioner of Saints John and Paul Episcopal Church. Her church family meant the world to her. She was a talented seamstress, quilter, knitter, and curler with a competitive spirit. She loved sports, the outdoors and spending time blueberry picking at Lake Kabetogama. Later in life, her days were consumed by watching the birds outside her picture window.
Faith played an important role in Mom's life. Her strong character served as a guiding light through joyous moments and challenging times alike. A pillar of strength, she inspired those around her with the grace in which she faced life's trials.
Beyond her role as a cherished family member, Mom was a beacon of friendship to many. Countless lives were touched by her kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her loving family members including her blessed children: Jennifer (Steve) Bonner, Barbara (Sam) Perrella, Craig (Sharon) Polski, Deanne (Tom) Butorac, and Sara (Eric) Johnson; loving grandchildren: Molly (Cory) Johnson, Tony (Emma) Perrella, Blake, Simon, and Paisley Johnson, Katy (Reid) Romer, Jane (James) Bernard and Abby (Ian) Hanson; and ten great grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, Swan and Helen Lundeen, and husbands Hugh Polski and William Parish, sister Janice Lammi and brother-in-law Dick Lammi.
While we mourn her physical absence, we celebrate the legacy of family, faith, and friendships she leaves behind.
Our family wishes to thank Edgewood Vista and East Range Hospice Team of Dr. Peterson, Andi and Joan for their wonderful care and concern. Also, the many visitors that brightened her days.
A service to honor Mom's life will be held on Thursday, February 1, at Saints John and Paul Episcopal Church at 3 p.m. with the visitation beginning one hour prior. May Dorothy's soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire kindness in the hearts of all who knew her.
