Glenn Gibson

Glenn Gibson, age 68, of Wall, South Dakota, died Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Monument Health in Rapid City.

Glenn was born April 28, 1957, in Virginia, Minn., to Ellen "Joy" (Schuman) and Kenneth Gibson. He grew up in Britt, Minn., and attended school in Buhl, Minn., where he graduated from Buhl High School in 1975.

Over the years in Minnesota he worked in the mines, at Valley Homes, and also did carpentry work for a few years before moving to Wall, South Dakota in the early 80's. In Wall he owned a hotel and later worked as an electrician in Wall for over 25 years before retiring.

Glenn loved hunting and fishing with his sons. In his free time, he also enjoyed watching old westerns.

Survivors include two sons Liam Gibson of Bismarck, ND, and Branden (Cody) Hamann of Parker, SD; step-children: David Daughterty of AK, Michael Stack of CO, Codi Munsch of ND, and Katie Munsch of MN; grandson Warren Hamann; four step-grandchildren: Morgan, Jaxson, Layne, and Tegan; mother Ellen "Joy" Johnson of Virginia, MN; four brothers: Alan (Joleen) Gibson of Britt, MN, Rory Gibson of Buhl, MN, Jody (Arlene) Gibson of Cook, MN, and Mike Gibson of Park Rapids, MN; two sisters Shari (Darren) Penoncello of Britt, MN, and Lisa (Jeff) Gabel of Virginia, MN; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Gibson; brother William "Bill" Gibson; and nephew Matt Gibson.

Cards and memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 484 Parker, SD 57053.

Cremation will take place, and services will be held at a later date in Minnesota.

Arrangements are with Rush Funeral Home of Philip, South Dakota.
