Norma A. Minor
Norma Minor, lifelong Hibbing resident, passed away peacefully on July 9th at the young age of 100; at Cornerstone Villa with family.
She was born on April 14, 1924, Alice and Henry Hall of Staples, Minn; the middle child of seven siblings.
Norma married Kenneth Minor and celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing. She worked at the Sunrise Bakery for 21 years and loved the connection with the owners, team members and customers.
Norma was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She loved her family, church, baking all kinds of sweets, decorating for every holiday. growing beautiful flowers in the summer and was a talented seamstress. You could always find a fresh cup of coffee and a homemade treats when you stopped by.
She is survived by her children, Charlotte, Charlie (Jayne), Claude (Kerry), her furry buddy, Tender all from Hibbing; her sister, Lois Mertens, Sister-in law Marilyn Hall both
of Staples, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; and siblings, Leonard (Helen), Lloyd (Margie), Lavina (Herman Hinzman), Lorraine (Lloyd Mertens) and Lawrence.
The family would like to thank her friend Bea for daily calls, giggles and sweet treats. Rina and Marcy for the excellent in home care and the entire staff of Cornerstone Villa for their professional care and loving kindness. We are forever grateful.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the beginning of the service at 11:00 am at the church. Rev. Kevin Olson will officiate.
