Terrence 'Terry' P. Champa

Terrence "Terry" P. Champa, age 73, of Chisholm, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at his home in Chisholm.

Terry was born July 14, 1952, to George and Bernadine (Vukich) Champa in Chisholm. He attended Chisholm High School graduating with the class of 1970. Later he attended Hibbing Technical School. Terry worked at MinnTac as a Diesel Mechanic; he also served as the Treasurer of the Steelworkers Union Local 1938. Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing, going out for beers with his friends, attending gun raffles. He was well known for dressing up as the easter bunny and handing out money to all the kids and "adult treats" (shooters) to the adults. Terry was knowledgeable at identifying birds, he greatly enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels at his house.

Terry is survived by his children, Craig and Stacy Champa, siblings, Annette (Chuck) Thompson, Suzanne (Joe) Schultz, John (Mary) Champa, Amy (Nick) Fiester, David (Jody) Champa, grandchildren, Nicholas and Hunter Champa, Kassandra Putney, Ash and Brittney Sanders, numerous great-great children, nieces, nephews extended relatives, and dear friends, including Jerry McGlaughlin and Carrie Briski.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lenore, brother, George Champa Jr., great-grandson, Carter Champa, great-niece, Amber Rose Champa.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home in Chisholm. Visitation will be held from noon until the beginning of the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at the Chisholm Cemetery in Chisholm.
