Claudia Kambish Obituary
Emmett - Claudia Ruth Adams Kambish passed in her sleep on May 24, 2025. She and her husband, Greg, had lived on their farm in Emmett, Idaho, for 35 years, raising beef cattle and growing feed for their herd. They moved to Emmett from California, where Claudia lived in Salinas since 1938 (a year after she was born) and in nearby towns up to that point.
Claudia was the first daughter of three born to her parents, Katy and Ed Adams, and was brought with them to their new house on Oak Street after her father accepted a position at Hartnell College as a coach and teacher. She attended local schools, excelling academically, and was a popular student, becoming a cheer leader at Salinas Union High School. From childhood Claudia loved animals, especially horses. She learned to ride from Mrs. Marvin Roberts at the Salinas County Fair Grounds and stables and after that usually found a way to have dogs and horses in her life.
Claudia and her first husband, Glen Tucker, had three daughters, each of whom she taught to ride horses. The youngest two, Dana and Amy, progressed into the daredevil sport of barrel racing.
Although she wasn't a trained artist, Claudia sculpted small lifelike clay horses as a teenager and created beautiful gardens wherever she lived. An accomplished seamstress, she sewed clothes for her daughters and their offspring, wedding and prom dresses, many quilts, and handmade gifts for holidays. Nearly 20 years ago Claudia joined an Emmett craft group, hand painting beautiful platters, mugs, and other items. In addition, she applied her creativity to cooking and loved trying new recipes.
Claudia became a member of the PEO Sisterhood in California, gaining treasured friends and supporting the local chapter after moving to Idaho.
In addition to her husband and two stepchildren, Sarah Kambish of Happy Valley, Oregon, and Amy Kambish Sexton of Marion, South Carolina, Claudia is survived by her daughter, Dana Clare Tucker Carter of Yuma, Arizona, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Daughters Gwendolyn Elizabeth Tucker Miller and Amy Ruth Tucker Lewis predeceased their mother. Claudia is also survived by her sisters, Sydney Adams Uhry of Riverside, Connecticut, Julianne Adams Frizzell of Palo Alto, California, their husbands and families.
Claudia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be remembered for her smiles and laughter. Her ashes will be scattered on the hillside above the Idaho farm where she and Greg lived so happily together.
