Sweet - Doris Jennifer (Moyer) Newell 87, passed away on May 17, 2025, at home, in Pine, Idaho, with family by her side. She was born October 6, 1937 in
Emmett, Idaho to Earl LeRoy Moyer and Helen Mae Moyer.
Doris was devoted to her family and cherished each of them. She especially loved family gatherings of every kind. She loved playing cards and dominos, reading, and spend time at their cabin at Fall Creek on Anderson Ranch Reservoir. She loved to travel and would often times take trips with Kimberly and Clifford all over the United States, including the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. She loved the family trips to Disneyland and Seattle with Manny, her 3 children and all of the grandchildren. When they retired, Doris and Manny traveled south spending nearly every winter for 38 years in sunny Arizona. Their wintertime travels did take them into Mexico and to the southern tip of the Baja.
She was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate of 69 1/2 years, Emanuel "Manny" Leon Newell; father, Earl LeRoy Moyer; mother, Helen Mae Moyer; sister, Elaine LaFaire Howard; brothers, Floyd LeRoy Moyer, and Roger Earl Moyer; and beloved son David Brad Newell.
She is survived by her sister, Donna Mae (Lawrence) Denney; her daughters Linda Kay Newell and Kimberly Sue (Clifford) Newell-LeMaster; daughter in law, Marilyn Anne Newell; 14 loving grandchildren Chris (Carmen) Hunt, Eric (Reagan) Gooden, Dustin (Lacy) Kerr, Ryan (Audra) Sherman, Matthew Sherman, Laura (Anna) Newell, Barry Newell, and DeNali (Jake) Toombs; 14 great grandchildren with a 15th great granddaughter due in October 2025; and 1 great great grandson; along with many extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Potter Funeral Chapel in
Emmett, Idaho; a graveside service at the
Sweet, Idaho Cemetery to immediately follow. Following the graveside service a dinner will be served at the Syringa Hall in Sweet. The chapel service will be live streamed by Potter Funeral Chapel and will be available online through their website.
You are at peace now momma, resting in our Lord and Savior's loving arms. You were the best mother and grandmother this family could have ever wanted. You will be remembered always and missed by so many. Until we meet in heaven.
