Frederick Betzold Obituary

Emmett - Fredrick Alan Betzold, Sr. passed away 8/8/25 at age of 76 at his home of 50 years, surrounded by his wife Susan, daughter Betina, son Fred Jr, and son Tony, amongst the many other relatives and friends.

Fred grew up and lived his whole life in his hometown of Emmett. Born to Wallace Gene and Harriett Vivian Betzold in Boise, Idaho. He was one of seven, Steven, Bonnie, Brenda, Randy, Brad and Gina.

Fresh out of Emmett High School, he married his high school sweetheart Susan Dawn Cleary on May 5, 1967. They became parents of 3: Betina, Fred Jr, and Tony, all while working at the Boise Cascade Sawmill for 35 years.

He was a man of many skills, including being a journeyman electrician, yet his most enduring interest was being a wonderful father and husband. He will be deeply missed by many, a wife, a daughter, two sons, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, as well as daughters-in-law and sons-in-law of all of his children and grandchildren.

Son, Tony, writes "He lived for his kids-every choice he made was for us. Thank you, Dad, for your love, your lessons, your life. We carry you with us always. Love you, Dad."

Daughter, Betina, writes "Dad instilled a desire to be our best at whatever we sought out to do. He will always be very much a part of who I am-some of his stubbornness mixed with love. I will miss you, Daddy."

Son, Fred Jr, writes ""Dad lived life on his own terms, guided by unwavering integrity and a deep love for his family. It is my honor to carry his name and his legacy forward...I love you pop"

Wife Susan writes, "He was the love of my life. I will miss him dearly"
