Robert Lee Helmick

Robert Lee Helmick, 79, of Emmett, Idaho lost his battle with cancer on April 18, 2012 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Robert was born in Emmett, Idaho on March 20, 1933 to Albert and Freda Helmick. Robert married Shirley Johnson January 8, 1960 and together they raised two daughters, Tina and Annette, out of which came six grandchildren, Andrea, Derick Shane, Ryan, Jacob and Raschelle.
Later in life after Shirley's passing, Bob married Colleen Lanham on October 12, 1996. This union expanded their family by two sons, Tom and Keith and grandsons, Zeb, Clay, Tylee, Cole, Joey and Robbie. They shared 15 Years of traveling, fishing, adventures and more family times.
Robert was self employed as a farmer and rancher. He also logged for Grovners and worked for Barrett trucking. After retirement, he continued to enjoy his travels with Colleen and provided his wealth of experience and knowledge to help Phillips brothers with their farming.
Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather as well as a hardworking, fun loving man.
Robert was preceded in death by Albert and Freda Helmick, Shirley Helmick and Beulah Lytle.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Robert is survived by wife, Colleen; siblings, Keith Helmick, Bernice Rogers, Irene Canaday, Vivian Smith, Rose Darnell, Cleo Bramlett, Gary Helmick, Aaron Helmick, Karen Wildman, Ed Helmick and Timothy Helmick.

Also we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Arlene Kropf, Linda Limbaugh and Joyce Benham for all the help and love you showed during the most difficult hours.
Services were planned for Monday, April 23, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Chapel in Emmett. A viewing was be held on Sunday, April 22 from 1 to 6 p.m.
