Beverly Crawford Obituary

Beverly Lou (Corgatelli) Crawford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on October 30, 2025, at her home on the 9S Ranch. She was born on January 26, 1949, to Louis and Gwen Corgatelli and raised in the Darlington area of the Lost River Valley.

Bev, as she was called, attended Mackay Elementary and Jr/Sr High School. She was a Miner fan throughout her life participating in band, drill-team and too many other activities to list. She attended Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where she was on the swim and dive team and not only received a Bachelor's Degree, but she also met her husband Harry Crawford. Bev and Harry were married in Mackay, Idaho on November 26, 1971 and moved to Northern Idaho for a time.

Bev and Harry took a leap of faith in 1975, moved back to Darlington and bought part of her father's (Louis Corgatelli) ranch so he could retire. Eventually the ranch included not only Hereford, but also Angus and Dairy cattle. Bev worked on the ranch alongside Harry her entire marriage fulfilling the dream of having a successful ranch and owning a home within earshot of where she was raised. Bev also had a love for horses and raised numerous foals that became ranching horses. Eventually she and Harry purchased horses for each of the 3 kids to ride. She spent hours watching her kids learn and compete, and finally in the end, purchased a horse for herself. She worked hard to learn alongside her kids at countless 4-H meetings and lessons and achieved her goal of having a horse to call her very own to ride and show.

Bev was an accomplished artist and painted dozens of paintings that are spread throughout Idaho. She enjoyed sharing her love of art with all those around her. She also loved teaching; her joy came from seeing others succeed, especially the children whose lives she touched through her teaching and mentoring. She taught swimming lessons every summer while Becky, Tony and Brian were young and enjoyed every chance she could jump in a pool. Her love for learning lead her to fulfill her mom's dream for her to be a teacher. She returned to Idaho State University to obtain her Education certificate, became a 2nd Grade teacher and, eventually, also received her Master's Degrees from Idaho State University. She taught at Mackay Elementary for over 30 years. Beverly believed in the power of education and hard work, and she lived that belief every day.

Bev is survived by her loving husband, Harry Crawford, and her children Becky (Jared) Crapo, Tony (Tai) Crawford, and Brian Crawford, granddaughters, Aralynn Kay Crapo (Ryan) Dransfield and Emersynn Sage Crapo. She is also survived by her devoted sisters Sharon (Corgatelli) Smith, Charlotte (Corgatelli) Shearer, Debbie (Corgatelli) Griffin, and Kathy (Corgatelli) Neville, and step-sisters Janie (Burt) Secrist, Kathy (LaJohn) Morgan, Deanie (Dave) Martino, and brother in-laws Gary Smith, Bud Shearer, Rick Neville, Ronald Crawford and Don (Leona) Crawford. She also is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by many beloved family members of the Corgatelli family, but most closely her parents, Gwen and Louis Corgatelli, step-mother Adell Corgatelli, step sister Betty Weaver as well as her in-laws Hazel and Harlan Crawford, sister in-law Toni Crawford, and brother in-laws Blair Arnold and Karl Griffin.

Bev loved the Lord, the Lost River Valley, her immediate and entire extended family, her friends, and her community. She loved her students and her fellow teachers, and she made a difference in countless young lives. To those who knew her she was a friend, a source of strength, a guiding light. Her kindness, patience, and lighthearted humor endured through every challenge and was a wonderful example to many.
