Robert Duke Obituary

Robert Evan Duke, 72, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

He was born on March 21, 1953 in Hailey, Idaho to Robert Stone Duke and Bonnie LaReese Evans Duke. Bob was raised in the Lost River Valley and attended schools in Mackay, graduating from Mackay High School in 1971. He spent the majority of his life in Mackay and Challis, Idaho except for a short time in Alaska.

In May of 1970 he married Rina Sue Tappan in Darlington, Idaho. They were blessed with two children, Gina and Daniel. Bob and Rina were later divorced.

Bob worked various jobs throughout his life. He worked as a miner, appraiser, water master, real estate agent and county assessor. He was active in the Native American Culture and participated in many Sweat Lodge services. His given Indian name was Rockin Bob.

Surviving are his children, Gina Louise Duke and her family, and Daniel Robert Duke and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and LaReese Duke; his siblings, Bonnie LeAnn McFarland, William Lynn Duke and Bambie Zudora Fonnesbeck.

Cremation services are under the care of the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Arco.
