Archie Lyles Obituary
Archie "Buddy" Lyles Jr., 88, of Metropolis, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center with his family by his side.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home with Charles Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Otterbien Cemetery.
Buddy was retired from Ford Motor Company; and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 588, Brookport Church of God, Night Moves Dance Club for over 20 years, and served in the Air National Guard.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith Lyles; children, Archie "Mac" Lyles, Randy Lyles and wife Heidi, and Chandra Lyles; grandchildren, Mackenzie Lyles, Chloe Lyles, and Camden Lyles; stepgrandchildren, Joe Rubitschung, Luke Rubitschung, and Capri Rubitschung; great-granddaughter, Rowan Divit; sisters, Vicky Maddox, Phyllis Sutton, and Katie Fuqua; several nieces and nephews.
Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Archie Monroe Lyles, and stepmother, Velma King; mother, Edna Elizabeth (Scruggs) Williams, and stepfather, Ralph Williams; sisters, Virginia High, Bette Dugard, Evelyn Ryan, and Katherine Hutchinson.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in Buddy's name to Mercy Health Hospice, 1530 Lone Oak Road, Paducah, KY 42003.
Pallbearers will be Randy Lyles, Mac Lyles, Camden Lyles, Chloe Lyles, Russell Holley, and Dennis Jones.
