Brenda K. Cohoon, 76, of Metropolis, passed away at 3:19 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home. Tom Quimby officiated. Burial followed in IOOF Cemetery.
Brenda was a member of Upper Salem Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors, including yardwork, flowers and watching the river, crosswords, and classic sitcom TV. What she loved most though was being with her family. She especially enjoyed and adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and is going to be deeply missed.
Brenda is survived by her children, Larry G. Cohoon (Debbie Phelps), Bill Cohoon, Audrey Gilbert and husband Chuck, Adam Cohoon and wife Raven, and Amanda Binkley; daughters-in-law, Vickie Cohoon and Amy Cohoon; nine grandchildren, Jana Nesmith and husband Marcel, Dalton Cohoon and wife Klarissa, Justin Cohoon (Kayla Sanderson), Dakota Cohoon and wife Marcella, Austin Cohoon and fiancé Leslie Phillips, Ryan Cohoon and fiancé Traci Galloway, Makaylee Cohoon, Kasey Cohoon, and Jacob Binkley; seven great-grandchildren, Viviana, Meadow and Saniyah Nesmith, Opal, Kyler, Dean and Kash Cohoon, and one on the way; several nieces and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ruth (Adams) Borem; husband of 42 years, Larry Joe Cohoon; sisters, Elaine Manley and Ann Laird; brother, Donald Borem; and an infant brother.
Pallbearers will be Dalton Cohoon, Justin Cohoon, Dakota Cohoon, Austin Cohoon, Ryan Cohoon, Kasey Cohoon, Jacob Binkley.

Brenda was a lot of fun to be around when we were kids. I have lots of fond memories spending time in Metropolis at the Borem home. May she rest in piece with the other family members.
