Doyle David Lewis, 84, of Paducah, Kentucky, formerly of Metropolis, passed away at 6:12 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, with Rev. Mike Hardison officiating at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
Doyle retired from Laidlaw Corporation, served as jail administrator at the Massac County Sheriff's Department, and drove cars for Mike Smith. He attended Community Christian Church, was president of the Lions Club for several years, served as chairman of the board for Massac Memorial Hospital for several years, was a member of the Metropolis Country Club, and served his country in the United States Navy. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, Nascar fan, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Doyle is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Lewis; daughter, Denise Cybulski and husband Jason; son, Jerry Lewis and wife April; four grandchildren, Blake Goins, Hannah Hayden and husband Luke, Kyndall Cybulski, and Josh Lewis; one great grandson, Hank Hayden; several nieces and nephews.
Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, William Harvey and Mary Ione (Fink) Lewis; siblings, Madge Johnson, Marjorie Motter, Levi Lewis, Lendsey Lewis, Melba Sills, James Alonzo Lewis, Dennis Lewis, and Norman Lewis.
Visitation will be held noon-2 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made in Doyle's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or American Cancer Society, PO Box 1640, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741, Memo restrict to Illinois Service Area Only.
