Sue Strong Obituary

Sue Carlin Strong, 84, of Brookport, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah.

She was a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Strong; a daughter, Janet Marie Strong; her parents, Revie Shannon Sr. and Susie Hamilton Shannon; three sisters and five brothers.

She is survived by her children, Versie L. Shannon of Racine, Wisconsin, Derek D. Strong of Paducah, Kentucky, Jeffrey L. Strong of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Michael S. Strong of Atlanta, Georgia, Shelia A. Lacey of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Jamie L. Strong of Brookport; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great- great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Jones of Racine, Wisconsin; and Gloria Ann Shannon of Brookport; one brother, Lanfort Shannon of Brookport; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services are scheduled for noon Friday, April 4, 2025, 1at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Calvin R. Cole Sr. and Melanie Nunn officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour.
