Adele R. Russell

1948 - 2017

Adele R. Russell, 69, died peacefully on Saturday, May 20, 2017 following a brief illness. She was born in Cambridge on January 20, 1948 the daughter of the late Harold J. Russell and Rita B. (Russell) Russell. Adele is survived by her husband Yvon Maillet of Ashland. Devoted mother of Jennifer Grover of Framingham and Thomas Grover and his wife Jessica Grover of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was the grandmother of Greer, Avery, Evan, Marin and Liam Grover. Sister of Gerald Russell of Fort Myers, FL, aunt of Wendy Russell Lambert Puterbough and Debby Russell Balogh both of Fort Myers, FL. She was the step-mother of Tina Maillet Doucet of Grafton and Norman Maillet of Framingham. She also leaves her beloved dog Holly. Adele spent her formative years in Wayland and was a graduate of Wayland High School with the Class of 1956. Prior to her retirement, she was an insurance agent with Deland and Gibson Insurance Agency of Wellesley. Adele also resided in Sherborn and has been a resident of Ashland for the past 29 years. She was an accomplished horsewoman and competed in many local horse shows and throughout New England. She loved to play billiards and was a member of the AMVETS and American Legion both of Ashland on their billiard leagues. She also enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending time traveling to New Brunswick, Canada. Adele was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother to her family and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Visitations will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte. 30), Wayland, Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Ann Church, 124 Cochituate Road (Rte. 27), Wayland, Interment will follow in the Russell family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
