Armand "Tig" Sabourin, beloved teacher, coach, role model, friend, passed away on July 9, 2021. UMass Amherst graduate, which he attended on a full football/baseball scholarship. BS in Mathematics and, in 1960, was awarded Student-Athlete of the year. U.S. Army Veteran where he was stationed at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama, working on the missile program headed by Wernher von Braun. He taught and coached for 5 years at Clearwater Central Catholic High School in Florida, where he was voted Teacher of the Year. In 1968, he began his career teaching and coaching at Bedford High School in Massachusetts. Armand belonged to: Massachusetts Football Coaches Hall of Fame, Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, Dean Academy Hall of Fame, Northbridge High School Hall of Fame and Bedford High School Hall of Fame. He leaves his wife Judith (Leonard); his 3 surviving children, Anne and her husband Daniel Ferguson, Michael and his wife Ann (Kelly), Christopher and his partner Victoria Rogers. He was predeceased by his son Jim. He leaves 13 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He also leaves a sister Patricia (Sabourin) Davidson and a brother, Robert. He was predeceased by his brother Richard. Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13, at the Tighe-Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 14, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Michael Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson with burial to follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson.
