Darryl Goss Obituary

Mr. Darryl B. Goss, 54, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at home. Born on January 29, 1958 in Natick he was a son of the late Mary I. (Bradford) Goss. He was a graduate of Framingham High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. A love and talent for things automotive his professional career began as a technician for various automotive shops. Shortly thereafter, Darryl's interest in spirits led him to study about wine and beers. His travel to Belgium grew a greater appreciation for beer, its manufacturing and many varieties. Until being diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2006 he was working at Martignetti Liquors in Brighton as wine supervisor. His career as a Master Brewer began with the Cambridge Brewing Company where several of his beer recipes won National awards, one of which "Tripel Threat" got him recognized as the first brewer in America to brew a Belgium styled beer. A beer was named in Darryl's honor of which a portion of the proceeds are donated to finding a cure for ALS. Other interests included reading, collecting various albums and all genres of music and a love for motorcycles, specifically his show winning 1974 Harley. In addition to his mother, Mary, he is predeceased by his brother Dale Goss. He leaves his parents, Melvin W. Goss and Joan Graham-Goss of Worcester, his siblings, Darin P. Goss and his wife, Judy, of Natick, Lisa J. Bonardi and her husband, David, of Worcester and Kellie Batista of Colorado; many nieces and nephews including Brendon, Kristin, James & Juliana; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Darryl's life on Saturday, April 28th from 2:00- 4:00PM at Boyle Brothers Funeral Home, 173 Union Avenue, Framingham.
