Edith Hanover Obituary

FRAMINGHAM Edith Hanover, 84, a Framingham resident for the past 52 years, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at MetroWest Medical Center. She was born in Cambridge, and was a 1941 graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School. She was a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Hanover was an active member of Temple Beth Shalom and was a past president of its sisterhood. She also was a former board member of the women's auxiliary of the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in Roslindale, and was active in many other Jewish and community organizations during her lifetime. She is survived by her husband, Alfred S. Hanover, of Framingham; her son, Mark L. Hanover, of Revere; her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and his wife, Sylvia Hanover, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and five grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will take place today, at 10 a.m., at the Framingham-Natick Jewish Cemetery in Natick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edith's memory to Temple Beth Shalom, 50 Pamela Road, Framingham, MA 01701.
