Eleanor Kelley

SUDBURY Eleanor (Johnson) Kelley, of Sudbury, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008. She was the loving wife of 50 years to the late Howard C. Kelley, Captain, Sudbury Fire Deptartment; devoted mother of Christine Porter and her husband, Dennis, of Winchendon, and Shawn Kelley and his wife, Louise, of Princeton; and the dear sister of Gene Johnson of Colebrook, N.H. Funeral services will take place Friday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m., at the Memorial Congregational Church, Concord Road and Church Street, Sudbury. The Rev. Dirkje Legerstee will officiate. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be in Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury. Visitation hours at the Duckett Waterman Funeral Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, (Rt. 20), Sudbury, are Thursday, Nov. 13, 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to the Wayside Hospice, c/o Parmenter Visiting Nurses Association, 266 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA 01778. Raised and educated in No. Stratford and Colebrook, N.H., Mrs. Kelley completed high school in Waltham, and Bryant and Stratton Business College in Boston. Eleanor was president of Womens Fellowship at Memorial Church, president of the Sudbury Womens Club, a member of the Library Committee, Council on Aging, and for many years, Sudburys Bowling League. She also was an active skier, card player and bingo player.
