Janet Thomson

Janet C. (Connerton) Thomson, 75, of Framingham, died on Sunday April 29, 2012 peacefully at her home. She was the wife of John Thomson. They had been married for the past forty-four years. Born in Blackrigg, Scotland, daughter of the late John and Janet (Polland) Connerton, she had been a resident of Framingham for forty years. Janet immigrated to this country in 1960 aboard the Queen Elizabeth. She worked at Pan Am Airways from 1960 to 1978. She was proud to receive her real estate brokers license in 1979. In 1988 she worked as an administrative assistant Framingham State College and also at Wellesley College. Janet enjoyed travel, the theater, music and books. She was a member of the romance writers of America and served as the secretary with the Boston Chapter. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, John Thomson and his wife Jennifer of North Reading and Robert Thomson and his wife Jessica of Westwood; one daughter, Janet Jenny Monahan and her husband Casey of Marlborough; one brother, Edward Connerton and his wife Jetta of Grangemouth, Scotland; two sisters, Marion and May Connerton both of Armadale, Scotland; five grandchildren, Cecilia, Skylar, Conner, Edward, and Larken and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday May 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bridgets Church, 840 Worcester Road, (Route 9, East) Framingham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home will be on Wednesday May 2, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00.
