Katherine A. Burgess

Katherine A. "Kay" (Rockett) Burgess, 94, a former resident of Framingham, died peacefully Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Martin Nursing & Restorative in Stuart, FL. She was the beloved wife of the late John F. Burgess, Jr. who died in 2001. Born and raised in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late William I. and Mary Jane (McEachern) Rockett. A graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Watertown, Mrs. Burgess worked for a time at Filene's in Chestnut Hill and more recently as a bank teller at First Mutual Bank in Newtonville before retiring. She enjoyed reading and travel and was a former parishioner of St. Bridget's Church in Framingham. She is survived by 2 daughters: Katherine B. Duane & her husband Lawrence of Stuart, FL., and Susan B. Russell & husband Edward of San Diego, Calif.; 3 grandchildren: Lawrence Duane, Robert Russell and Kimberly Russell Beretta ; 2 great grandchild ren: Benjamin and Santiago Russell; a sister: Barbara J. Murphy of Norwood and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and neph ews, great grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: William, Richard, John, Helen and Mary Rockett. Visiting hours are Tuesday April 10 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Ave., Framingham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday April 11 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bridget's Church, 830 Worcester Rd. (rte. 9 eastbound) Framingham Centre. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Pond St., Natick.
