Mary Letendre Obituary

MARLBOROUGH Mrs. Mary A. (Garcia) Letendre, a resident of Marlborough, died in Marlborough after a brief illness, surrounded by her family, aged 83 years. She was the wife of the late Ronald A. Letendre. Born in Hudson, MA, on December 27th, 1926 a daughter of the late Lionel and Whilamenia (Custodio) Garcia. She received her early education at St. Michael Grammar School in Hudson, and attended St. Michael Academy. Mary met Ronnie on New Years Eve in 1945, and they married on August 25, 1946. She became affiliated with the former Ascutney Shoe Company for a short time before working for the Victory Plastics Company. Mary spent the greater portion of her working career at Hudson Cleaners and retired from Raytheon in Wayland in 1983. Mrs. Letendre was a communicant of St. Anne Parish in Southboro, previously she was an active member of St. Michael Church in Hudson where she was a member of the Holy Ghost Society, the church choir and the Society of the Catholic Daughters. Mary worked at the Polls during the elections in Marlborough for many years and was a Brownie Leader in her younger years. Aunt Mary loved to cook, especially for her family and friends, and you had better save room for her fabulous desserts. Surviving her are her loving children, a son, Larry R. Letendre and his wife Dona of Hartwell Georgia and a daughter, Maureen E. Letendre of Marlborough. Grandchildren; Ronnie Letendre and Tracy Letendre. seven great-grandchildren, Jessica Letendre, Dezire Letendre, Savonte Anderson, Aysia Letendre, Adrian Anderson, Jacob Staley and Alexandra Cansino. Two god-daughters, Janis L. Healy of Westford and Sandra McMullen of Northboro. Brother and sister-in-law Raymond Mickey Letendre and his wife Marie of Marlborough, a sister-in-law, Norma Pagrialuo of Hudson, MA. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was the sister of the late Delia Mendes, Vangy Gracia, Hilda Garcia, Manny Garcia and Joseph Garcia. Great-grandmother of the late Neko Letendre. Calling hours are Sunday, March 28, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral will take place Monday, March 29, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Anne Church in Southborough. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial contributions in her name to St. Jude, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38202. Interment is private.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Maureen, I don't know if you remember the name or not but our mothers were room mates back on October 5,1956 in Marlboro Hospital. My Mom, Edie Cote, passed away in 2001. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

we will miss mary,her smile and her kisses.mary was a good friend to my aunt and then they met again after many years at the housing and enjoyed each other day after day.now they are again in the same place where all angels are.i am sorry for your loss.
