Ronald Stephan Obituary

Ronald A. Stephan. Family and friends were saddened to learn of the death of Ronald A. Stephan, long time President of the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce and co-founder of Prudential Ursula M. Stephan Realtors, Sudbury, who died in Delray Beach, Florida on Saturday, March 23, 2013 following a brief illness. A resident of Sudbury for over 35 years, upon retirement in 2005 he and his wife, the late Ursula M. Babe Stephan moved to Kennebunk, Maine and also established a winter home in Boca Raton, Florida. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Albert and Jessie (Francis) Stephan. He would have turned 80 on April 30, of this year. He served with the United States Army Medical Corps during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952, attended the University of Buffalo and married Ursula Muto in 1954. Mr. Stephan joined National Cash Register (NCR) as Administrative Assistant, then on as Salesman, District Manager, Northeastern Division Manager, and finally New England Regional Manager, ending his tenure with NCR after 26 years. He then joined Business Information Products Division of United Computing Corp. as Eastern North America Division Manager. In 1986 he joined his wife when her real estate company was selected as one of the first in the New England states to represent the prestigious Prudential Real Estate Affiliates. Prior to his years in Sudbury, Ron had been the President of the Buffalo Junior Chamber of Commerce; Chairman of the Junior Chamber of Commerce National Convention; Member of the Board of Directors for the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce; Board of Directors Muscular Dystrophy, Buffalo Chapter; and the Buffalo Area Boy Scouts of America. After moving to Sudbury, he volunteered as Coach of Sudbury Little League and Coach of Sudbury Pop Warner Football. He served on the Sudbury Finance Committee from 1978-1981 and was elected President of the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce from 1987, serving until his retirement. Mr. Stephan received the Boy Scouts of America Good Scout award in 2003, and he and Mrs. Stephan were named 4th of July Parade Marshalls in 2007 in recognition of their work to raise funds for the holiday celebration through the Fire Cracker Ball. Mr. Stephan was predeceased by his sons Gregory and Keith Stephan and is survived by his sons: Louis Stephan and his wife, Lisa Dropkin, of Sudbury; Scott Stephan and his fiance, Vicki-Ann Girard, of Kennebunk, ME; and Ronald Stephan, Jr. and his wife, Andrea, of Scarborough, ME. He also leaves his grandchildren: Lynn Stephan; Sarah Schweiker and her husband, Ryan; Beth Eddy and her husband, Nick; Madeleine and Louis Stephan, Jr.; Aja Stephan Allan and her husband, Garry; Deanna Perez and her husband, Hector; Josiah Stephan; Gregory and Ronald Stephan; and three great grandchildren. He also is survived by his brother and sister in law, Richard and Doris Stephan of New York. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 2, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 160 Concord Rd., Sudbury, followed by interment in Wadsworth Cemetery, Sudbury. Visitation will be Monday, April 1 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Duckett | J. S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Rd., Rt. 20, Sudbury. Memorial donations should be directed to the American Lung Association, 400 Totten Pond Rd., Waltham, MA 02451 or to the charity of ones choice. Lou, Ron, Scott and grandchildren,
