PIQUA — Charles A. Wysong, 93, of Piqua, died at 2:22 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born July 31, 1921 in West Alexander to the late George Charles Albert and Lottie Mae (Mendenhall) Wysong.
Survivors include his children, Charles (Carla) Wysong of Greenville, Warren (Joyce) Wysong of Piqua, Patricia Maxwell of Bradford, Dayna (Philip) Hemmelgarn of Bradford, Vicki (John) Crosby of Greenville; a stepson, Kent Whitehead of Greenville; 27 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; 34 great great grandchildren; and 18 step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, a sister, a son, a daughter, a grandson, a granddaughter, two great granddaughters, and two great grandsons.
Mr. Wysong retired in 1976 from the Dayton Tire and Rubber Company following 33 years of service building truck tires. He was a United States Navy veteran having served during World War II and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #614. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, feeding, and caring for birds and squirrels. He enjoyed attending festivals and garage sales.
