PIQUA — Christine W. Tackett, age 64, of Piqua, passed away at 9:25 a.m. on June 21, 2017, at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 13, 1952, in Bethesda, Md., to the late Franklin Williams and Patricia Edmonds of Bath, N.Y.
She is survived by her ex-husband of 29 years: Emery E. Tackett Jr.; two sons: Emery E. Tackett III, Fairborn, OH, Duggin W. and Ashley Tackett, Piqua, OH; one daughter: Cassandra Young, Piqua, OH; three brothers: Franklin Williams, Salt Lake City, Utah, Bart Edmonds, Bath, N.Y., Brian Edmonds, Seattle, WA; one sister: Ann Edmonds, Lexington, KY; 11 grandchildren: Katlin Tackett, Jacob Young, Makaylah Young, Chloe Young, Spencer Clabaugh, Rumer Freeman, Riley Freeman, Elijah Young, Darrah Clabaugh, Jaxson Young, and Peyton Guenther.
Christine graduated from Avoca High School, Avoca, N.Y., in 1971. She was employed for three years at Valley Cartage Trucking Co., Inc., Hudson, WI.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans and donating them to local charities for under privileged families. She was an avid bowler and board game player, especially Monopoly. She enjoyed Disney and Star Wars. Christine loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua.
