COVINGTON - Douglas M. Arnett, 81, of Covington, passed away Friday evening, May 12, 2023, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy.
He was born March 23, 1942, in Miami County, to the late Lester and Ruby (Oldham) Arnett. Doug married Della M. (Sowry) Arnett; she survives.
He will also be missed and remembered by his children, Scott (Tawnja) Arnett of Pleasant Hill, Bradley (deceased) (Toni) Arnett of Covington, Greg (Shirley) Arnett of Covington, Donald (Sherry) Martin of Chillicothe, Dirk (Karen) Martin of Haiti, Diana Noll of Webster, Dina Martin of Minster, Dane (Karen) Martin of West Milton and Damon Martin of Troy; numerous grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his siblings: Shirley (Joe) Meyer, Sharon Arnett, Debbie (Tom) Cook, Victoria (James) Ritzert and Sue (Rick) Gasson; sisters-in-law, Delana Arnett, Tana Arnett and Deanna Frazier; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Arnett; siblings Jackie (David) Lobenstein, Max Arnett, James Arnett and Maxine Arnett; son-in-law, Edwin Noll; and brother-in-law, Robert Frazier.
Douglas was a 1960 graduate of Troy High School and retired from the Hobart Corporation after many years of service as a machinist and foreman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, cutting and splitting wood, tending to his garden, and his dogs.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at Miami Memorial Park, Covington. Private visitation will be held for the family at Moore Funeral Home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left for the family at moorefh.com.
