PIQUA — Emigine "Jean" Cassell, 69, of Piqua, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at 7:43 a.m. in her residence. She was born in Barbourville, KY, on April 24, 1947, to the late Caleb and Lillie (Lawson) Lee. On Aug. 28, 1963, in Piqua, she married Buck Cassel. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 2010.
Jean is survived by one son: Ricky and Tonya Cassel, Houston, OH; two daughters: Sarah Cassel, Piqua, OH, Shelly Cassel, Piqua, OH; two brothers: Sam (Carol) Lee, Piqua, OH, David Lee, Piqua; three sisters: Wanda Gambill, Houston, OH, Anna (Winston) Roberts, Piqua, OH, Bonnie Doolin, Piqua, OH; and four grandchildren: Tishaunda (Jeremy) Rowland, Jeffery Simmons, Drake Cassel and Hanna Cassel; two great-grandchildren: Arabelle Simmons and Rebekah Rowland.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Estiliene Dozier, Emma Wilkerson and Louise Lee; one brother: Henderson Lee.
Jean loved being a homemaker. She found joy in her family and serving the Lord.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery Piqua, OH, with Pastor Sam Lee officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home, Piqua, OH.
