Helen Van Dine

SIDNEY - Helen Susie Van Dine, 91, of Sidney passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Story Point Nursing Home, Troy.

She was born April 28, 1931, in Reading, Ohio the daughter of Wilburn and Bertha (Davis) Ballou. Helen graduated from Sidney High School in 1945.

Helen married the love of her life, March 4, 1950, in Lockington United Methodist Church Darwin Van Dine and he preceded her in death. In her younger years, she loved to sew. She loved to bake pies and enjoyed helping on the family farm. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Connie & Harold Stover; sons, James & Debra Van Dine and Ronald & Debra Van Dine; thirteen grandchildren; Vicky & Keith Wagner, Andrea & Ed Link III, Jennifer & Robert Gillen, Amy & Kyle Depler, Greg & Tara Edwards, Daniel Edwards and Dustin & Victoria Stover; fifteen great grandchildren, brother Willard & Phillis Ballou; sister Marie Bradshaw and her beloved 4-legged girls Sox & April.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by; sisters, Jean & Bud Hoover, Deloris & Carl Michaels, Wanda & Dick Lambert, Vontella & Albert Keith; brother, Calvin Ballou, and brother-in-law, Carl Bradshaw.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday February 18, 2023, in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St, Fletcher, Ohio with Pastor Ed Link III officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Suber-Shively Funeral Home.
