There are no words that can describe the empty space I now carry with me since you left. I was the one that made you a papaw, and such a proud papaw you were. You and I had an amazing relationship. You were one of the main reasons my childhood was so great. Spending the summers by the pool in Arizona. If I close my eyes I can still hear Shania Twain playing on your backyard radio and the way you smelled like Marlboro lights bud light and aftershave. I would give anything to have one more of those days. Until we meet again papaw, I love you.

He was hilarious and boisterous and always very kind to me. I admire his and my father's relationship and I feel he was as admirable as my father is, which is very much so. One of the last times I saw him was when he was driving in an RV with his friend through Arkansas. We grilled food and everyone was happy and he measured my dad's blood sugar level with a small electronic device. It was funny and I felt happy to be around for it. I will miss him
