Jane Johnson

MILFORD - Jane Meeker Johnson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, at the age of 73.

Jane shared 51 beautiful years of marriage with her high school sweetheart, Jim, her beloved partner in life and adventure. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to Laura (Scott) Montgomery, Helen Bradish, and Betsy (Josh) Deeter, and a proud and loving grandmother to Jane, Walter, and Henry Montgomery, and Bo, Nellie, and Emma Deeter.

Jane is also survived by her siblings, David N. (Becky) Meeker, George N. (Cindy) Meeker, and Susan (Bob) Naeny, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and David Meeker.

Jane attended Troy High School and was a graduate of Hollins College in Roanoke, Virginia.

Jane was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. She was funny and witty, warm and positive, and always ready for the next adventure. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome, loved, and at ease. She embraced life fully and was an active and devoted presence in her family, her community, and the many organizations that were important to her.

Jane found joy in so many things; she was an avid needlepointer, loved playing tennis, enjoyed bowling with the EFBL bowling group, and cherished her time with family and friends in Lake Leelanau. But more than anything, Jane treasured her family. She loved being together, sharing a laugh, and creating the memories that will now live on in those she leaves behind.

Jane's kindness, humor, optimism, and zest for life will be deeply missed. Her family and friends will carry her memory with them and remain grateful for the love, laughter, and light she brought into their lives.

Services will be held in Cincinnati on Saturday, September 19th at 11:00am at Horizon Community Church. The service will be livestreamed: www.horizoncc.com/live-event.
