PIQUA - Nancy A. Kaeck, 76, of Piqua, passed away at 11:49 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2023, at Upper Valley Medical Center.
She was born May 5, 1947, in Piqua to the late Henry and Pauline (Ewing) Lay.
She married John R. Kaeck Sr. October 1, 1966, in Piqua and he preceded her in death October 25, 2003.
Survivors include two children, Angela Kaeck, and John and Janice Shappie Kaeck, all of Piqua; five grandchildren, Bradley (Nicole Colarusso) Kaeck, Jennifer (Domenic Silvestri) Kaeck, Brian (Amy) Shappie, Ben (Kara) Shappie, and Alex Shappie; seven great grandchildren; one brother in law, Ron Kaeck; one sister in law, Patricia Morrow; and very close nieces and nephew, Debbie and Trishia Knouff and Nickolas Mumpower; also many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Thomas Lay.
Nancy was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1965. For many years she enjoyed being a caregiver for children in her home. Nancy enjoyed going to the Casino from time to time, and also enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. Angela and Nancy liked to take trips to Amish Country for a fun getaway. Family was very important to Nancy, and she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
A service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Geise officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to one's favorite charity. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
