PIQUA - Susan Kae Souders, 81, of Piqua, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025. Susan was born on December 8, 1943, in Piqua, Ohio to the late Lewis E. and Virginia F. (Williams) McClelland.
Following her graduation from the 1961 Class of Piqua Central High School, Susan would go on to have a lifelong career as a CNA, where her love, care, and patience for her clients was renowned. In her free time, Susan was an avid supporter of her alma mater in Piqua Central, but she was also an artistic soul who loved crafting in all its various forms, whether it be in hand-sewed projects, lovingly baked goodies, or carefully cultivated flower gardens.
Susan was also a faithful member and pre-school leader for the Fletcher Community Church for many years, where she not only helped guide the next generation of parishioners, but also sang in the choir. Most of all, however, Susan's greatest moments of pride, joy, and fulfillment in life came from spending time with her extended family and friends, especially babysitting and supporting her grandchildren as they grew up.
Susan is survived by her daughters, Lynn Souders, Lorretta Biggs, and Mona Taylor; grandchildren, Joshua (Brittney) Souders, Marcus Biggs, Chantay Biggs, Lillian (Marcus) Gunther, Dylan (Chelsea) Taylor, granddaughter-in-law, Brooke Taylor,; great-grandchildren, Penelope Rose Gunther, Hayden Taylor, Savanna Kelley, Annabell Taylor, Kenzie Taylor, and Koe Taylor; brother, Lew (Kathy) McClelland; special cousin, Janice Williams; special nephews, Jeff and Brian (Terry) McClelland, and Marshall (Annie) Moreland and Michelle (John) Widecan; and special friends, Jeff Hughes, Steven "Lee" Bock, Juanita Cruea, and Roy Shoopman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and grandson, Dusty Taylor.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in Suber-Shively-Vernon Funeral Home, Fletcher, Ohio. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio with Rev. Aaron Chivington officiating.
