Alice Schave
Alice Jane Schave, 89 of Port Hope, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024 with her family by her side. Alice was born on April 6, 1935 in Detroit, MI to Daniel and Letitia (McAllister) Cadotte. She and Clarence Strozeski were married on July 26, 1952 and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1981. She then married Leroy Schave on June 14, 1986 and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2022. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Laide's Aide, LWML, and Port Hope Amvets Post 115 Auxiliary. Alice worked at various places over the years, but her most important job was raising her seven children. She was a talented crocheter who blessed her loved ones with many beautiful gifts over the years. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and gardening. Her family was the most important thing to her and she never missed an opportunity to be with them. She attended sporting events, band concerts, and other activities for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to Christmas every year when everyone would gather at her home to celebrate. Alice is survived by her children Linda (Darwin) Krueger, Larry (Cindy) Strozeski, Daniel (Candy) Strozeski, David (Claudia) Strozeski, Rita (Ronald) Watts, and Steve Strozeski: Grandchildren Scott (Angie) Krueger, Suzanne (Eric) Smith, Vicki (Jason) Pfaff, Rebecca (Mark) Iseler, Lisa (Kevin) Jimkoski, Jennifer (William) Emerick, Joseph (Marie) Strozeski, Emily Strozeski, Rob (Danielle) Strozeski, Megan (Chris) DeClark, Alison (Dustin) Canup, Nicholas Watts, and Andrew Watts: Great-Grandchildren Olivia Krueger, Hailey, Maya, Blake, and Addyson Pfaff, Owen and Katie Iseler, Logan and Ella Jimkoski, Garrett, Griffin (Elissa), Hannah, and Tessa Emerick, Madison, Jackson, Katelynn, Lilyann, and Emmelyn Strozeski, Dakota Ealy, Hunter DeClark, Natalie, Isaac, and Austin Canup. She was preceded in death by her son Randy Strozeski and sister Emogene Cadotte. Visitation will be at Ramsey Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11:00am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Hope, MI with visitation beginning at 10:00am. Burial will take place following service at Verona Cemetery. A white clover will take place Wednesday at 6:30pm at the funeral home. Scripture service take place Wednesday at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
