Janet Truemner Obituary

Janet Truemner
Janet Sue Truemner of Pigeon, age 78, passed away on September 29, 2025 at Scheurer Health in Pigeon. She was born September 24, 1947 in Pigeon, the daughter of the late Woodrow and Hildred (Collins) Schweitzer and graduated from Sebewaing High School. On November 4, 1967, Janet married Lee Charles Truemner. Their marriage was blessed with nearly fifty-six years and countless cherished memories. Lee preceded her in death on August 20, 2023.
Janet dedicated twenty-five years to Scheurer Health in Pigeon, working in the housekeeping department until her retirement in 2009. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Linkville, where she actively participated in the Ladies Aid and helped with countless church meals and events. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds and gardening. Janet loved taking trips to the casino and traveling to Las Vegas with her sister and friends. Above all, Janet's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known lovingly as "Gigi." Caring for her children and grandchildren was her proudest accomplishment, and she made sure everyone knew just how much she loved them. Janet will be remembered for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and generous spirit. Her loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janet leaves to cherish her memory, children Kari (Matt) Ricker of Gagetown, Kevin (Sheila) of Owendale, and Kendal (Rosie) of Pigeon; grandchildren Derek (Emily), Brenden (Jordyn), Kyle, Abigail, Colin, Leah and Cade; great-granddaughters Hadley & Renley and Callie & Kinslee; siblings, Tom (Annette) Schweitzer, Ella May Schweitzer, and Dave Schweitzer; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her grandson, Brody and sisters, Mary Lou (Larry) Adam and Jo Ann Schweitzer.
Janet's memorial service will be on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Linkville with Rev. Chris Suggitt officiating. Janet's family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church-Linkville.
