Richard (Rich) Samuel Howell (52) died on December 30, 2023, in Toledo, Ohio from ongoing health issues. Rich was from Millington, Michigan, and was raised by the late Kenneth Howell and the late Beverly Howell. Rich grew up with his brother Matthew Howell (Jacqueline Howell) of Hillsboro, Ohio and his sister Lisa Howell (Thomas Walser) of Mount Vernon, Ohio. Rich was a loving father survived by his children Garrett Howell of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Sydnee Sutliff of Port Austin, Michigan. He was also a loving uncle to whom he is survived by his nieces and nephews Shenoah Howell, Ryan Howell, Chase Thomas, Olivia Thomas, and Kynlee Houck.
Rich loved watching sports, swimming, cars, making people smile, helping others, and finding the best U of M gear to wear. He loathed Ohio State for the rivalry and would tell you how U of M is better in every other way. When speaking with Rich, he would gloat about how smart and creative his kids were, and how he loved spending time with them, even if it meant he could just sit and talk with them. Being a trucker for most of his life, Rich was able to build lifelong connections and friendships that helped through everything he has faced in life. Rich knew what pain was and he never wished that pain on anyone. Now we can all be grateful that he is no longer in pain and suffering, rather in the sky with the other angels pain free.
