Woodrow Ball Obituary

Woodrow Ball, 76, of Harbor Beach passed away Sunday, Jan 7, 2007 in the Harbor Beach Community Hospital.

Born Dec. 16, 1930 in Mingo County, W. Va., he was the son of the late Cullon and Martha (Vinsen) Ball.

On Nov. 5, 1953, Woodrow and Elizabeth Reuss were united in marriage in Fulda, Germany.

Woody was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a pipe fitter and steel worker for 50 years in Detroit. He retired to Harbor Beach in 1997.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Ball of Harbor Beach; two sons, Mark Ball and his wife, Grace, of Harbor Beach, and Nick Ball of Harbor Beach; eight grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Christina, Mathew, Jessie, Chelsea, Beth and Patricia; four brothers, Buddy Ball and his wife, Mary Lou, of South Carolina, Cullon Ball Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, of West Virginia, Jimmy Ray Ball and his wife, Deb, of West Virginia and Ronnie Ball of West Virginia; and sister-in-law, Margaret Munson of Petersburg, Va.

Memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 12, 2007 in Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach, with Fr. Charlie Hammond officiating. Cremation has taken place at Sunset Valley Crematory, Bay City.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday.
