Beth (Peterson) MacFarlane was born January 26, 1929, on January 1st, 2026, she found her way back into the arms of her loving husband, Robert, who passed away December 2000. Daughter, Heather Shafer, and granddaughter, Chelsea (Beck) McRoberts, provided comfort and held Beth's hand while she completed her spiritual journey in the home built by Robert and Beth in 1949. Their loving reunion is cause for celebration for all eternity on both heaven and earth. Affectionately referred to as "Blue Eyes" by her husband, Beth provided a home filled with laughter, love and care for her children and grandchildren alike. As a devoted member of the Portland United Methodist Church, she made many lifelong friends and participated in all forms of church activity, including dinners, bake sales, and services, for over seventy years. Adventurers in camping (in a tent!) at Lake Taghkanic in New York was a recurring event for almost fifty years that will be forever cherished and remembered by her children and grandchildren alike. Beth is survived by her daughter, Heather Shafer, ex-son-in-law, Randy Beck, son, Robert and his wife, Rosaria. Grandchildren that will forever miss their Gramma are Josh Beck and wife, Lesli, Michael MacFarlane, Devon (Beck) Ericson and husband, Clay, and Chelsea (Beck) McRoberts. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 7th, at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, CT. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at Biega's.
