Bruce Wilson Obituary
Bruce A. Wilson, 72, passed away at Midstate Hospital on Thursday, December 9, 2021. He was surrounded by his loving wife of 27 years, Irene Wilson, his step-son Vijay Summersong and daughter-in-law Sarah Labieniec. Bruce was born on June 16, 1949 to the late Robert Wilson and Helena (Bunnell) Wilson. Prior to his retirement, Bruce worked with his father, "Bob", in their Painting and Wallpapering business. He had many creative talents. He was a jack of all trades, a master painter and woodworker. He had an impeccable work ethic. His customers waited for his availability, sometimes months, for him to bestow his professional talents to beautify their homes. Bruce had a charming wit, always the jokester to make others laugh. Bruce loved animals which showed in how he cared for and loved his family pets. Bruce excelled as an athlete and Martial Arts Instructor. He shared his passion for Karate with his wife and delighted in training many students in the art of Shobayashi Shorin-Ryu. He achieved the rank of 10th Degree Grand Master. In January 2018 he was inducted into the Middletown Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in Baseball and Karate. Despite difficulties with chronic pain management, as a result of spinal surgery in 2001, Bruce continued to persevere! He remained diligently active, as he was able, maintaining activities, hobbies and family life. Bruce will be remembered for his youthful smile and genuine kindness. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Bruce, you remain in our hearts as a devoted, loving husband and partner in life, a caring stepfather and loyal friend. May the Angels carry you home and may you rest in Peace. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday (Dec. 19th) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. Graveside services will be Monday (Dec. 20th) at 1 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. To share memories or express condolences online please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com.

What I remember most about Bruce over the years is that he always had a smile for me, and that I can not remember ever having a dull conversation with him. Irene and Bruce have been such great friends, and I will miss him a lot. I will always treasure my memories of Bruce.

Our dear cousin Bruce. Or as our kids call you "uncle Bruce".
We will miss you more than words can express and your love and memories of how you watched over Tyler and Cameron when you visited us in Canada and when. We came to see you in Connecticut will never be forgotten. The love you brought to our family and the good times we have shared over the years will always be cherished. As Irene's cousins you are and always will be an integral part of our family and we are absolutely devastated by losing you. Bruce truly was a kind dear soul with such a beautiful smile and quick wit. Even through his struggles , he always helped people . He always threw in humor to make one laugh. Heaven received another beautiful Angel. What a huge loss it is to anyone who knew Bruce. I strongly pray for his family left behind , especially my dearest sister and friend , Irene , who loved him dearly . Her devotion and dedication to Bruce was exceptionally loving .
