Eugene Rame Obituary
Eugene B. Rame Sr., 85, of Middletown, CT, beloved husband of Alice Browder Rame for 64 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Born on January 7, 1933, in Middletown, CT, he was the son of the late Benedict and Theresa Pessina Rame. Upon his graduation from Middletown High School, Eugene served three years in the US Army as a paratrooper. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy 99th Session in Quantico, VA. He proudly served as Chief of Police for four communities: Middletown, CT; Glynn County, GA; Cromwell, CT; and East Hampton, CT. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Eugene Rame Jr. of Middletown, CT; four daughters, Susan Rame of Middletown, CT; Teresa Florez and her husband Timothy of Vernon, CT; Tina Ciccarello of Apopka, FL and Donna Zanelli and her husband Ralph of Rockfall, CT; eight grandchildren, Salvatore Ciccarello II and his wife Danielle, Deanna Gollnick and her husband Christopher, Melissa Zanelli, Alicia Zanelli, Megan Florez, Amanda Florez, Donata Rame and Anjela Rame and great-grandchildren Peyton Zachary and Ava Sofia Ciccarello. He also leaves a brother, David Rame and his wife Linda; three sisters, Nancy Bassos, Florence Courtright and Elaine DesJardins, and his cousin, Sebastian Santacroce. He was predeceased by a brother, Emanuel Rame and a sister, Mary Rame. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 S. Main St, Middletown, CT, followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. Sebastian R.C. Church, 155 Washington St, Middletown, CT. He will then be carried to his eternal rest in the family plot at St. Sebastian Cemetery in Middlefield by pallbearers: Deanna, Melissa, Megan, Amanda and Alicia. Honorary pallbearers: Salvatore II and Ava Sofia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Sebastian Church Renovation Fund. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Middlesex Hospital Nursing Staff and Hospice Home Care Nurses for all their care and compassion.

This may be a little late but I feel I owe you a salute in respect. From a grand nephew of Mrs. Alice's Georgia Family and fellow Paratrooper who never got met you but found out about you through family tree research and communicating to Susan and my Father, Alice's nephew. I've only heard nothing but the best of you sir and I know your are with all the rest of our Family in heaven looking down on us! I remember Officer Rame coming into McCarthy & Hurley's drug store to get a cup of coffeee when he was a beat cop. He always treated the kid behind the counter respectively and that has stuck with me all these years. Pray the comfort of the Lord for his family.
