Frank Wallace Prater, Jr. died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at home. Frank is survived by his wife, Helen Prater (nee Davis), married for sixty plus years; his daughter, Stephanie and son-in-law, Steve Paquette; son, Frank Prater, III; grandson, Malekhai-Blui Paquette; a sister-in-law, Arbedella Reese; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was born in Ohio in 1936, where he attended elementary and high school. He joined the U.S. Air Force at an early age and served for 23 plus years, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant. He then worked another 25 plus years in various capacities at the U.S. Department of Defense, retiring at the rank of GS-13. Frank enjoyed watching and officiating sports. He was an avid fan of basketball, football, and golf. He will be missed by all who knew him well. Final arrangements are being made by Doolittle Funeral Services, Inc, 14 Old Church Street in Middletown, Connecticut. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church, located at 440 West Street in Middletown. A viewing hour will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. The Homegoing Service will begin immediately after.
