George Collura, Jr. Obituary
George Sebastian Collura, Jr., 76, of Middletown, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 10, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 21, 1937 in Queens, Long Island, New York to the late Rose Spada Collura and George Collura Sr. George was a member of the B.P.O.E. #771 in Middletown. George leaves behind to mourn him, his daughters, Holly Jenkin and her husband, Mark of Haddam and Pamela Collura and Ralph Rubino of Deep River. Also, his ex-wife, friend and mother of his daughters, Roberta Collura; his brothers, John Collura and his wife, Anna of Middletown and Anthony Collura and his wife, Elizabeth of Cromwell; two sisters, Joanne Golden and her husband, Frank and LuAnn Collura-Lawrence and her husband, Jim of Cromwell along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to thank Dr. Franklin, Dr. Zeidler and the staff of the Hospice Unit of Middlesex Hospital for all of their compassion for George and his family.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15th from the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. John Church, 5 St. John Court, Cromwell. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook. Friends may call on Monday evening from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home and in lieu of flowers may make donations in George's memory to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492. We are so sad to lose our cousin, George. We will always cherish our memories and times together,(he was always part of our visits to Connecticut).
