Geraldine McCauley Obituary

On June 17, 2013, another angel was called home to heaven. Geraldine P. McCauley, 80, of Cromwell, passed away peacefully with her daughter and son by her side holding her hand. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Whalen) McCauley.
She leaves behind three daughters, Sharon Rogala of Cromwell, Maureen Kinney and her husband Brian of Cromwell, and Karen Rogala of Middletown; two sons, Alfred Rogala and his wife Amy of Cromwell and Raymond Rogala of Cromwell. She leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A very special childhood friend, Dora Clukey of Richmond Hill, GA. An unforgettable great granddaughter, Sierra and great grandson, Cory. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Rogala; a son, Charles and a daughter, Nancy Rogala.
She was an amazing mother and grandmother. She loved the Red Sox more than anyone starting at the age of 9. She liked watching UConn Women's Basketball and the New England Patriots, crocheting, and making picture scrapbooks.
The family thanks Middlesex Hospice and the Gardenview Nursing Staff at Pilgrim Manor for the great care they gave our mother. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Church, St. John Court, Cromwell on Monday, June 24th at 10 a.m. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit, c/o Dept. of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457. Biega Funeral Home has care of the arrangements. Nana,
Im missing you like crazy. I was talking to mom about you and great grandpa last night and I found out that you are stronger than I ever thought. You took care of 7 kids and worked your butt off so you could provide for them. There are so many thing that I wanna tell you now that Im older. Youd be so mad if you looked at my left arm and saw this tatto though, youd tell me to go to church and that Ill be forgiven at confession. I hope youre still getting your communion up there. I still have the pink and white blanket that you made for me too, I cant sleep without it. When I see a butterfly I automatically think of you. Youve always been my best friend and not a day goes by that I dont wish I could talk to you and tell you everything, to tell you I love you just one more time. It hasnt been the same without you and it never will. I love you so much, and I miss you even more. I wish we had more time.
Love,
Sisi

Mom, I hope you are having the time of your life in heaven. I'm sure Dad, Charlie, and Nancy were waiting for you. I know how much it hurt you when they passed away and you had to let them go. I am feeling the same way about you. The tears just won't stop falling from the broken heart I carry within me. I know as time goes on it should get easier, but I feel it will take the rest of my life to feel better. Now I've added you to my list of family I so dearly miss, love and wish to be with again. Tell Dad, Charlie, and Nancy I think of them always. They are never far from my mind and heart. I love you all forever. Always in my heart, mind and prayers. May you have a wonderful afterlife you so much deserve for all you've done for us on earth. May god be with you always. Love you mom you were the best there ever was, love Sharon

J.K. Rowling once said, "To the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." Although she is no longer with us she lived an amazing full life and continues her journey in the heavens with a fresh start, flying with the angels and looking down on her loved ones. I did not know her that well but I will definitely miss seeing her at family dinners on holidays, and her always wishing me a happy birthday when my special day arrived. She had a very good heart and that feeling of love will stay with us forever. R.I.P. Geraldine, you are gone, but NEVER forgotten. <3
