John McCormack Obituary
John E. McCormack, Jr., 75, passed away peacefully in Chesapeake, VA on September 4, 2023. Born in Connecticut to the late John and Rosemary McCormack, he is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years, Linda-Sue; his son, David; daughters, Laura (Russell) McCormack and Rebecca Cournoyer; daughter-in-law, Jill McCormack; and loving grandchildren, Mercedes Cournoyer and Cooper McCormack. He was predeceased by his son, John. He also leaves two sisters, Judith (Hugh) McGuire and Margaret Cuozzo. His brothers, Peter and Dennis also predeceased him.
He enlisted in the US Navy from 1967-1971 and afterward joined the Connecticut Army National Guard, where he retired after 25 years achieving the rank of First Sergeant. He also worked at the Southern New England Telephone Co. before retiring to North Carolina, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, shooting, and walking his buddy, "Red."
A celebration of his life will be private for his family. Donations in his honor can be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation (t2t.org).
