Lewis Tuttle

TUTTLE, LEWIS M. Lewis M. Tuttle, 84, of Bailey Rd., Middletown, husband of the late Ruth (Shelberg) Tuttle, died on Sunday at the Middlesex Hospital. Born on November 9, 1929, in Middletown, son of the late George B. and Mildred (Friel) Tuttle. Lewis had been a lifelong resident of Middletown and had retired from Durham Manufacturing after many years of service. A veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Army and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Lewis is survived by his loving family: two sons, James Tuttle of Middletown, John Tuttle of Durham; two daughters, Cheryl Murdock of Middletown, Mary Ellen Hasselman of Portland. Three sisters: Virgina Daukas of Rhode Island, Sally Britton of California, Gwen Speight of Maryland. Ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Coughlin–Lastrina Funeral Home, 491 High St., Middletown followed by a mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis of Assisi Church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the family plot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown, with full Military Honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
